Masterson’s Lounge, located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my recent visit at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I found behind its entrance was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
The State of the Venue : Squalid and Neglected Beyond Belief
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that upkeep was not a priority at this venue. The ground was covered in grime , and a pungent odor of decaying beverages and dirty bathrooms permeated the entire pub. Emitting a scent of a mixture of ammonia , a rotting odor and illness . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it had accumulated over weeks.
